VIRTUAL OWL JOB SHADOW PROGRAM
Kennesaw State University strives to provide students with an array of experiential education opportunities outside of the classroom. The Owl Job Shadow Program provides students with a job shadow experience to help them explore different career opportunities and see what it is like to work after graduation.
APPLICATION AND PROGRAM INFORMATION
By attaching your resume (YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED RESUME IN HANDSHAKE) and applying to this post, you are applying to participate in our Owl Job Shadow Program for the 2020 Fall semester. Below is very important information regarding the program, so PLEASE READ THIS POST THOROUGHLY. PROGRAM INFORMATION:
Dates: March 8 - 12, 2021.
This program is designed for you to virtually see and learn from companies to see what it is like to work for them or in their industry. The shadow day(s) will be mostly observing, but may require you to do small tasks. You are allowed to participate up to 5 days, and each shadow day would be at a different company. You are not guaranteed to be matched for the same amount of days that you request.
After you apply and fill out the required survey, we will match you with as many companies as possible, within the number that you request.
On the included survey, you will be asked for all of your AVAILABLE dates. Please ONLY select dates that you would be available any time during an entire workday (8:00am-5:00pm). You can select multiple dates.
Time: Your host company will set your schedule for the day, with a maximum of 2 hours or less.
Requirements: You must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA or greater, and must have completed one full semester at KSU prior to the shadowing semester, or be an alumnus of KSU.
Host companies/opportunities: You can find a table with all of the available companies offering job shadow opportunities for the majors within your college at https://public.tableau.com/profile/lori.trahan#!/vizhome/Spring2021JobShadowProgramEmployerList/Dashboard1
You can request any job shadow opportunity from any employer on the list to be a part of your top 5 choices. Please do not select the same company multiple times as that will limit your choices if you do not get approved for that specific company.
Once you have submitted your application, you will be redirected to a survey. You MUST fill out this survey before Friday, February 12th, 2021
If approved, you will be expected to participate in the program, regardless of circumstances. You also must attend one Owl Job Shadow Orientation Workshop (dates will be sent to you once you have been approved for the program). This workshop will go over expectations for the student, professionalism, any paperwork associated with job shadow placement, etc.
