What I liked

I enjoyed the work atmosphere as well as the people within the IT department. It was very interesting getting to work with real-world IT problems and tasks.

What I wish was different

I wish I had started earlier in the summer!

Advice

Don't be afraid to work in an area where you may not have a complete understanding of the job. I had to learn a good bit about IT while working for KSU. Employers don't expect you to be amazing at a job you just started, so don't stress!

Summer Camp Counselor

May - July 2019 • Kennesaw, GA

What I liked

I enjoyed the experience of working with kids. My coworkers were also great. It was a STEM based camp, so I even learned a lot about different computer programs and softwares.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been better organized, a lot of it was experimentation and when there are kids involved, it makes me nervous to not have good procedures in place. We will have new management next year so I hope it will improve.

Advice

Anyone with the goal of K-12 education should look at getting a similar job. The experience may help you determine that it isn't the career for you or may confirm that it is exactly what you want to be doing.

Undergraduate Admissions Admin

May 2019 • Kennesaw, GA

What I liked

I love the friendly staff, and welcoming environment. The hours are flexible, and for the most part all the customers have been pleasant to work with.

What I wish was different

As of right now, that I am still currently with them, I would not change anything. I am very pleased with the situation.

Advice

I would like to share that you should never limit yourself based off of what you think you do and don't like. I never thought that I would like essentially working a "desk" job, but it has been quite a pleasant surprise.

October - November 2022 • Kennesaw, GA
